Are you sure K-9 doesn't do what you want?
I don't think that K9 allows you to have multiple sender addresses in a single account. But it does let you have multiple accounts and use the correct sender address for each one. Tty mail on an Android device isn't a viable option. RTT times make shell sessions a PITA at the best of times and the apparent inability of the most common ssh client to change font makes it more unpleasant.
