I started work on re-using these devices ages ago and have a new burst
of energy with them. Anyone else interested in re-using these?

What are you suggesting? A geo-caching meetup? Hacking the hardware?
Connecting it to a Linux box as a NTP source?
Probably all of those options would get some interest.

certainly hacking the hardware / (software really). I built a small app
ages ago just before I changed countries and lost the code but have
since re-discovered stuff. The NTP would be interesting but I didn't get
that far. Maybe geo-caching but would need to have a technical aspect to
it...
