Since the au retune I haven't been able to get mythtv to tune to channels 9 or 10 on boot. If I shut down mythtv and manually run a w_scan then restart mythtv it works (without touching anything in mythtv), so I'm guessing my card is failing to automatically detect one of the various dvb-t parameters that must have changed, but w_scan is figuring it out... Does anyone know exactly what the retune changed? All the frequencies appear to be the same... Thanks James

I had to retune my DVB-T tuner, but only because after the change, SBS wouldn't show. AFAIK, only SBS moved frequencies. My channels.conf has SBS now at 184500000. Cheers, Sean
Thanks

no idea what actually changed with the retune, but i just shutdown mythtv-backend and then ran mythtv-setup, deleted all channels, and then re-scanned. delete and rescan seemed the easiest/least hassle method (and i vaguely recall doing the same thing once or twice before). my myth box has been working fine ever since. craig -- craig sanders <cas@taz.net.au>

I think I figured it out. One of my tuners seems to be able to autodetect all the settings in the transponders (except bandwidth which I needed to manually set to 7), the other tuner requires setting up most settings individually. When I would restart MythTV and find things working again, what was actually happening is that by chance I was using the good tuner so it all appeared to work again. Once I set the code rate, guard interval, and transmission mode manually it all started working again (or at least it seems to so far...) Thanks James

Hi
I've had two problems related to channel 9 ever since they changed the frequency they where using. I eventually fixed the first issue after getting someone with a digital signal analyser to come on site. The cards where detecting a frequency which was a little off the correct one.
From then on I could watch live.
The second issue relates to recording channel 9, my system simply will not record any data if requested to record channel 9. Since fixing the first I've tried deleting all the channel data via mythsetup but this does not seem to fix the issue. I've not been able to find any reference for the tables I would need to clear out to 100% start from scratch for only the channel dvb stuff. Mythtv only marks records as deleted using mythsetup, so I think something is not being mark correctly. The only other idea I had was to clear the tables 100% but then I lose all my recordings and future record preferences. Again if I could work out which tables to keep then I would do that. Mike

I was detecting one channel at something like 543500 and then also 543250. One of those had a pointer to what appeared to be the old frequency... not sure what that was about.

If you know your way around sql it's pretty easy to tinker with the relevant table. That's how I ended up mucking around with the dvb parameters - the GUI was just too tedious. Being able to watch live but not record seems strange though. James
