Linux on HP Pavilion Touchsmart 11 -e102sa

Hello folks, have been happily using a Sammy N150NPlus with Ubuntu for the past 3 years but it is getting a bit old and tired. I like the small size for travelling and am not happy with tablets. Have been looking at the HP Pavilion touchsmart 11-e102sa with an AMD A6, 4GB memory and 500GB HDD. Has anybody been using this with any distro? Any pros or cons? Any issues with installing Linux? Either as a standalone or as dual-boot? cheers

Haven't used it myself, but it doesn't sound like it went that well for others: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2196776 On 23 July 2014 07:54, stripes theotoky <stripes.theotoky@googlemail.com> wrote:

Similar problems for me on an HP Envy M6. I was able to multi-boot to the grub menu prior to upgrading from Win8 to 8.1 (but was not able to do so when secure boot was enabled). Following this upgrade I am unable to boot into grub other than thru the F9 start-up menu. Seems like its an HP thing with their implementation of UEFI. I haven't tried the efibootmgr yet.
