Sounds like there's a lot of good technical information in here. In my case, I have additional constraints for any serious speaker system - RF immunity. Most PC speaker systems make excellent broadband radio receivers. Not the thing you need then you have 100W of SSB floating around! :D

I would like to respond to some of the points brought up by Craig and others but I feel I definitely now I am no longer allowed to do this. If/when this whole mess is cleared up........................ sigh :-(.
