Great LUVers, The call for penguin patriotism is upon us! Our great community is facing a dire situation. We have no speakers in the coming month! An appeal is made to you, the glorious citizens of LUV, to bring your voices and provide a talk. We have a crazy situation. We're booked up until March 2013, except for next month's LUV-main meeting where we have *no speakers*. None! So please, some brave and loyal individual, please raise your hand and sally forth. For LUV! Thanks in advance, -- Lev Lafayette, mobile: 0432 255 208 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt

Hi all, Is this on a Saturday afternoon or the first Tuesday evening of the month? If and only if it's the former (and not the latter): I am weak in the technology details, and a bit old-geezer-ish in not wanting the latest bleeding edge Alpha releases, but how about this... I've got an Honours in Commerce, got a Masters in Public Sector Efficiency, been the GM of two manufacturing businesses, and now run a management consultancy. How about I speak on Linux's share of the OS market, factors affecting its future viability, issues that come to play when organisations consider migrating or adopting a different OS platform, and steps that Linux Geeks could take to maximise growth? Let me know ASAP, Carl Turney Bayswater Mobile 0427 024 735 Home/Office 9720 3975 On 09/10/12 11:48, Lev Lafayette wrote:

Hi Carl,
Is this on a Saturday afternoon or the first Tuesday evening of the month?
LUV-Main; first Tuesday of the month (except it is Wednesday, because in Melbourne we conduct a horse worshipping ritual on the first Tuesday in November). The Saturday afternoon event is LUV-beginners, which is a hands-on workshop.
How about I speak on Linux's share of the OS market, factors affecting its future viability, issues that come to play when organisations consider migrating or adopting a different OS platform, and steps that Linux Geeks could take to maximise growth?
Sounds good if you're available for Wednesday, November 7th. All the best, -- Lev Lafayette, mobile: 0432 255 208 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt

Egads, almost forgot about it.

Yes. Free at that time. Will do. Lev, please reply (off-list) with the time, location, and duration of my talk. Thanks, Carl
