Alex Bradbury (who is known for his work on Raspberri Pi and who just gave a lecture on the topic at LCA) is going to be briefly in Melbourne. He would like to attend the pre-meeting dinner before the next LUV meeting. He has other plans for the evening and can't attend the actual meeting so this will be your only chance to meet him. Is the pre-meeting dinner still at the same place? What time are you planning to arrive? I suggested 5:30 to Alex, if not everyone arrives that early then that's OK, I'm sure that Alex will be happy to hang out with the early people until the others arrive. -- My Main Blog http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/

Well done Russell! Now... where did you tell Alex to turn up to? :) -- Lev Lafayette, mobile: 61 432 255 208 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt

Big Mama seems to be the defacto default for pre-meeting dinners. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/71/1524991/restaurant/CBD/Big-Mama-Melbourne If a large number of people (e.g. any more then 8) intend to show up, somewhere bigger might be more appropriate. Also there is no guarantee of table space being available. Another place which a lot of people seem to like, and can cater for bigger groups with ease: http://classiccurry.com/ 597, Elizabeth Street, Melbourne -- Brian May <brian@microcomaustralia.com.au>

Unfortunately Alex has informed me that the hackerspace meeting starts at 6PM (previously he wasn't aware of the time it started). So it won't be possible for him to attend any meeting that people on this list could attend after work. I have asked whether he would be available for the Italian meal after the meeting, but that may not be possible. For the moment we have to assume that he won't be attending. Sorry to disappoint. -- My Main Blog http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/

Just got another message from alex. His hackerspace presentation starts at 7:30. Maybe if we have dinner somewhere near a city loop train station. Russell Coker <russell@coker.com.au> wrote:
