I look after a bunch of ADSL/SHDSL connections at different premises/exchanges - when they fail they fail (90%) on the LAST 300m - which is what the FTTN will use. **WE** will pay for the FTTN, it is shortsided. Why? FTTN is thought to be cheaper. You have to bend definitions quite a bit to end up with a system where price is not a part of economics. Personal note: I'm okay with copper gigabit to endpoint at work, same at home.
