I have seen that problem in the real world. Several years ago, a particularly brain dead version of Sendmail on a SunOS (gives away its age!) box couldn't be convinced to send to the secondary MX in a similar configuration. Unfortunately, that particular brain dead MTA belonged to either a client or partner we needed to be able to receive email from. :) 73 de VK3JED / VK3IRL http://vkradio.com
