Mailman question

Hi folks, If you've got a (very low traffic) Mailman list and it's been set up with digests and has subscribers who've enabled digests, what happens to them if you should disable digests? My guess is that they'll get emails as per normal from then on (or at least I would hope they would), but has anyone got experience with it?
