Don't forget we are discussing the issue from the phone manufacturer's POV; perhaps warranty insurance requirements must preclude naive users from trashing the file system then making a warranty claim. I quite agree ' reflash to factory default' should satisfy warranty insurance requirements; but do they actually ?
