On a side note, it is actually better NOT to cc or bcc those that are subscribed and only to reply to list, but not everyone practices that and it can be difficult to "oblige" people to do that.
OK, you're using Mozilla, on MSW, so unixy solutions for that aren't applicable, I guess. On linux, you could have used something like procmail to put the first copy to arrive into the list mailbox, and the second into "duplicates". (Or irrevocably discard it, if daring.) Mind you, I agree with you. The habit of sending "courtesy copies" is one which only seems to have merit if the receiving parties are behind with their list mail, and the poster is impatient.
