Yep, First theres the compilers and other stuff (xorg, mesa and other library headers etc) for building programs. Then as one of things I am currently writing is a 3D simulator is a lot of graphic arts items (both 2 and 3D) and audio stuff and some of these take up heaps of space, I cannot quote figures but they do take up a __lot__ of space.
