Oracle does not support containers, Avi pointed out.
This is not, strictly speaking, true: we support LXC and have released Docker as a tech preview on Oracle Linux 6 and 7. We are hoping to release official Docker images for things like Oracle Linux, MySQL, OpenJDK and eventually have Oracle product certification within containers. Right now, we know that RDBMS (for example) runs just fine both in LXC and in a Docker container. In fact, part of our LXC and Docker QA involves running OLTP test suites on RDBMS. Though, why you'd want to run RDBMS in a Docker container in the first place is an exercise left to the reader. :) Cheers, Avi
