The effort would be better spent fixing /perceived/ problems with sysvinit, quite frankly.
We are all entitled to determine how we spend our own time, and that of anyone whose time we buy. Attempting to dictate how a volunteer developer should work seems to irrationally disregard all concepts of individual freedom, and cast the benefactor as an owned slave. As users, we could reasonably ask for the opportunity to choose between alternatives, though it may be necessary to get off our backsides, and maintain any of the old stuff we want to keep as an option. That would be the test of the validity of our technical opinions, I believe. Erik -- The world is full of willing people, some willing to work, the rest willing to let them. - Robert Frost
