Well, I'm the sort of person who upgrades personal hardware once in a blue moon, so not really the right person to ask. Historically with the newest and greatest hardware sometimes manufacturers are not always as helpful as they could be and problems can arise. I haven't noticed any problems (yet) with this Ubuntu install on this particular laptop..
