Does anyone know of some alternatives [for archiving Yahoo! groups] that work on Linux?
If you don't already have a newsreader, this is probably not helpful. I read public MLs via gmane, because my newsreader does a better job of NNTP than my mailer does of ML mail. Whether you get an "archive" depends on whether someone has already gone to the trouble of adding the group. I don't know if the MLs in gmane are mailman, yahoo, or google, because that's transparent to me. gmane also carries (one-way) RSS/Atom crap, which I use for stuff like LWN and lightbluetouchpaper.
