I *think* that's the same bug, at least it's the only outstanding balance bug with a patch that I've seen (and on the btrfs list it's described that way in response to your systemd bug report).
3.11 has problems with removing dozens of snapshots at the same time.
I think that's meant to be fixed as of 3.11.6 and 3.12 (again as mentioned by someone on the btrfs list in response to your report). The sort of testing & reporting you're doing is really important! I've not managed to break it in any of these ways yet, but then I'm just being (deliberately) really boring with my use of it (for now). :-) cheers!
