You could try booting a live CD such as http://www.grml.org/ (which is worth having in any case).
If it detects your network hardware, you can use it to install Debian. Debootstrap can be used for this purpose, but as I recall, grml (and possibly other live distributions) offer scripts to automate this process.
Another option would be a Debian testing installer image.

Unfortunately, without spending a while tweaking boot options, GRML seems to be a fail. It's sticking on the nVidia GeForce GT 555M that's part of this laptop. Modprobe fails and hangs the rest of the boot process. I am prepared to go as far as Gentoo, to get Linux on to this Laptop, but as state previously, would prefer to stick to Debian.
