I use calibre, which exports to epub and automatically puts it on my ereader.
If you're looking for a straight replacement for liferea it wouldn't be helpful though.

I use Google Reader myself. But before that, I used Sage, which is a
Firefox extension.

Thunderbird has had RSS feed support for donkeys' years. I think that
would fit best into your existing Liferea workflow.
