The effort would be better spent fixing /perceived/ problems with sysvinit, quite frankly.
We are all entitled to determine how we spend our own time, and that of anyone whose time we buy. Attempting to dictate how a volunteer developer should work seems to irrationally disregard all concepts of individual freedom, and cast the benefactor as an owned slave.
Sure, but Russell didn't remember what he wrote and to which I was referring. Anyway, it's clear to me at this time that systemd is turning out to be a problem of the scale of Windows 8. Perhaps that's not fair, but perhaps it is ... only time will tell. I know that I don't want to be wasting my efforts on something that is destined to become a bad part of history and I hope that systemd goes that way, the sooner, the better. In effect, if I was able to, and I know that I can't, then I would be saving Russell plenty of wasted time; of course I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time -- but I'm not enjoying how this is panning out as a Debian supporter.
