The OP's final cure was to change the directory name to use '_' instead of spaces, and that was on windows 7. He had thought that he couldn't do that, so I suggested a symlink or a "mount --bind" to bury the one aberrantly named directory. It seems demonstrably better to avoid dangerous spaces, rather than try to paper over the issue with quoting or escaping, even though that is a sufficient workaround in simple cases.
