You could buy a Traverse Technologies Solos card if your server has a PCI slot - not exactly drop-in replacement however. I am very pleased with mine. I've read consistently favourable reports on Whirlpool about Tomson Speedtouch modems, including the observation that they have a telnet interface, but I haven't used one.
