What happens if you remove all plugins and extensions? I would suggest starting with Firefox alone - no extensions. If it still hangs then it's time to look at bug reports. I strongly suspect the issue is Fedora-specific - I'm running v18 here under Debian with no issues. I do not, however, install Flash on my machines.
