I have been intending to buy this drive for back up of my Linux boxen but Googling shows that some people at least are having trouble with Porsche drives. I understand I can't install the software as it is Mac but then I don't want to.

Is there any reason why this particular drive won't work as a standard USB3 on Ubuntu and Devuan laptops?
