Has anyone been able to recover a playlist from an iPod. I downloaded the songs OK but they do not use the real MP3 filename. Some other alphabetical naming system is used. Want to use a playlist for a family party this Saturday.
EasyTAG [0] allows you to batch-rename audio files according to their metadata (ID3 and whatnot).

Thanks to all, I am now well armed with EasyTag, and I have found that I can import from the iPod into Banshee (Gnome desktop here) and when imported the files have their mp3 tags displayed. The iPod has been returned to its owner, but when I get it back this coming weekend I will have a crack at using gtkpod to find and d/l the Playlist from the machine. With that done I should be able to use this playlist of choice to pipe music down an ethernet cable to the receiver, for the enjoyment of all. Thanks for your helpful responses. Andrew Greig
