Just in case there's been a recent fix, I did an apt-get install, but there's no improvement in the behaviour of the package.
Seems to work fine for me on Debian wheezy.
Thanks, I might go back to Debian on the desktop machine, now that I've replaced the motherboard which wouldn't take Debian, years ago. (The laptop is already Debian + LXDE.) The ubuntu installer autodetects the partition with the most current OS, and proposes the older for the install. I might have to pay much closer attention during a Debian install. (I always keep the previous install, as a fallback, when taking the new one on board.) Erik -- For humans, honesty is a matter of degree.
