There's a kernel command line parameter as well as suitable runtime patching and configuration so that it "just works" correctly for folk. https://lkml.org/lkml/2017/12/27/2 is the patch for AMD. At least for the pagetable fun. It's important to note that there's more than one issue being disclosed, and reading https://security.googleblog.com/2018/01/todays-cpu-vulnerability-what-you-ne... is a good idea.
