I find that surprising.  Python 3 is available in Debian Wheezy, and any
of the dependency requirements should be easily installable through apt
or pip.

Not sure what the latest version is, but if this the following file is anything to go by:

...then it uses pysupport (aka python-support) to for the Debian packaging. pysupport is considered obsolete, and AFAIK doesn't have (and never will have) Python 3 support.
