So my old computer is running debian squeeze with evolution 2.30.3. My new computer is running debian wheezy with evolution 3.4.4. What is the best way to migrate my mail folders and address book to the new computer?
The backup and restore functionality will bring _everything_ across, including the old PC hostname and other bits you should really configure from scratch.
I tried copying across ~/.evolution and ~/.gconf/apps/evolution but that hasn't brought across the sub-folders or the different email accounts.
I am going to be playing around again, when meatspace does not consume all available time. There were also comments about Evolution not being supported in the future. I will be needing to look at other email clients, and notice a lot of use of mutt, and another significant use of emacs and extensions. Regards, Mark Trickett
