Reality: - Apple products, Android systems and Microsoft systems are highly insecure devices if you take your privacy seriously - The spying on all electronic data transfers is happening - The majority of communications go through a few hands which are constantly subjected of surveillance But instead of being concerned we happily invite all these cool devices in our daily life which makes us the best-tracked animal species on Earth. It's all for your own good my little pigeons.. Open Source is the only chance not to lose privacy forever, and the biggest player, Linux, has crucial software replaced by a quite unruly mob. It will make it quiet hard to implement light-weight and safe IT solutions. Okay, half time is over, back to watch the pigeons. For the sinister part: The threat of surveillance is not a made up fantasy. Snowden sits in Russia for a reason and Assange is stuck in London as well.
The work is done on two fronts, through law (make it legal that all citizen are suspects and do not deserve privacy) and introduction of unsafe software.
Time for a reality check.
