yes. Previously the dependencies were only on systemd, which can be installed alongside systemvinit without being used. It's now calling for systemd-sysv, which is the operative package that changes /sbin/init. Just avoiding confusion for those watching...
Now is a good time to transition, it's been working well for me for over a year.
