My client, based in the Melbourne CBD, is currently looking for a Senior MySQL Database Aministrator to join their team on a permanent basis, paying an attractive 6 figure salary. This role is based in Melbourne CBD.
This role requires 5+ years DBA experience with a strong focus on MySQL. This role will really focus on the core competency of Database setup especially in MySQL and PostgreSQL. This role requires the successful candidate being able to really drilled down into performance improvement of the Database: (i.e. across database system configuration and the query optimisation)

We seek an experienced Database Administrator to ensure that my clients Databases are maintained to agreed high-availability service levels and deliver robust, secure and cost effective services to my clients customers. The role encompasses all global environments, and the capacity planning and growth of those environments.
The ideal candidate will illustrate:

5+ years as a DBA, with a strong focus on MySQL

Proven experience in Database security.

Proven experience in RDBMS (MySQL) database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, housekeeping and management. This includes the setting up and monitoring of the replication of databases within data centres and between data centres.

Desired experience or knowledge of WebFocus.

Ability to perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting work when necessary.

Ability to support a 24 x 7 IT Data Base operation, including performing changes / troubleshooting work and introducing new initiatives after office hours and on weekends.

Proven experience in the implementation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.

Proven experience in organising resources to manage the IT operations of local and remote Data Centres and office locations.

Proven experience in vendor and contract management

Mature and process oriented approach.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
