Hi Scott,
Welcome to the list, and to Geelong - and great to hear from another
Linux and opensource user.
The people on this list (there's about a dozen last time I checked) -
are keen *nix users and are also into things like open hardware,
networking, webdev and sysadmin type stuff.
Rather than single people out, I'd like to invite people on the list to
introduce themselves :-)
We haven't organised any specific Linux or opensource meets in Geelong
(yet), but there's a key group of people that meet on some Friday nights
for more open hardware type discussions at Geelong Amateur Radio Club -
join the Google Group
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!aboutgroup/geelong-hackerspace
for more information.
If there's sufficient interest in having a bit more of a get together,
I'm happy to organise this (I'm back in Australia mid-November).
Again, a very warm welcome, and please feel free to ask any questions
you might have about *nix stuff here.
Kind regards,
Kathy

Hello list,
I am a new subscriber to this list and interested in meeting other Linux
users in Geelong. If anybody with a keen interest in Linux and FOSS from
Geelong could contact me, it would be appreciated.
I'd also like to know if there is any LUV meetings or similarly
organised "Linux users" meetings in Geelong. I have attended a LUV
meeting in Melbourne but the travel on a Tuesday evening makes attending
impractical at best.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Scott Harrison.
