Computer access will be an issue, but I figured most people would have their own lappy, I could probably swing wireless access (sorry about that Daniel).
I have 2 laptops running linux- perhaps if we knew ahead of time to bring them we could manage to have a system for everybody, maybe usb stick if needed for files if we cant get network access.
Tutorials are a great idea - anyone want to give one? (I've done them before on WordPress, Inkscape, GIMP, and Anki would be happy to give again)
Would be interested in any of these (personally maybe not gimp if its introduction level, only because I already used a lot, but for others I'm sure it would be interesting). I'd also be happy to do intro tutorial for some of the apps I use - audacity/blender/gimp? And maybe programming with pygame or blender-gameengine - though not sure if programming tutorials are of interest to others.

Agreed - great idea. Really enjoyed our discussion on M$ knobbling adoption of free software in schools.

Would love to make this a regular thing - monthly is probably the best frequency. Will be guided by the group as to timing / days / etc. Were Thursdays good? Was the time good for everyone?
Another group I go to visit once a month, but hold talks/tutorials every second month and other meetings are more of a casual dinner & chat. Again - not sure this kind of thing should be structured - but it has the advantage that people who come from a long way off might prefer to skip the casual meetups. (& time was fine for me).
Re: help - pretty much all good, just had a busy day that day so didn't have as much time to prepare. The Uni has been *super* supportive of all the open source stuff I've been involved in (like BarCampGeelong etc). The key issue seems to be getting the Marketing people (who deal with room bookings for university stuff) to talk to the Security people about what's going on - just means a few phone calls.
Great to hear, and annoyed I missed BarCampGeelong :)
