From my experience in small organisations, a regular meeting - even if it's a lunch or coffee of three or four people - can make a world of difference. It provides a focus and a sense of being part of a "real" group.
But of course, other people react to the presence of physical people in the outside world differently :)
Thanks for posting!
I'm interested in luv-geelong... however I work in Melbourne, so meeting up is difficult.
Seeing more Email traffic in the group is also great. Occassionally I could make a meet in Geelong if it's after 5:30pm.
Cheers,
Matt.
Also happy to see interest here, currently Im working overseas but when the project ends (in a few months), I'd be happy to come along to a meet-up). +1 for meeting people in real life - seen a group I'm involved with grow from 3 --> ~20 people over past few years. And its great to meet other Australians with similar (geeky :) ) interests. -- - Campbell
