hi this is the expected behaviour of firefox, as developers have specifically written code to do this, but left an ill-documented command line option to not do it. firefox -no-remote to give the proper behaviour Steve On 02/13/2012 06:45 PM, Steve Roylance wrote:
hi
local network has a few machines on it address 192.168.1.9 through 192.168.1.15 all connected over via cable behind a router
on 192.168.1.14 (as i3-530) my usual desktop (Fedora-16 with KDE) with firefox running (vsn 10.0) open a konsole window I start a connection to 192.168.15 (D805) a storage box (CentOS 5.7 with KDE) with the command "ssh -Y 192.168.1.15" reply with password check location with "uname -r ; /sbin/ifconfig" give the command /usr/bin/firefox (vsn 3.6.10) and a firefox session starts with the firefox from the local box not the remote.
running konqueror, kate and kwrite gives the remote versions on the local box. So what is going on ?
