Anne, thanks so much.
I suspected the proxy may have had something to do with it, but was certain I had entered proxy info correctly having read & reread the page you link to.
Seems the issue was with the proxy host resolving as swapping out the url for the ip has solved the issue.

The proxy could be the problem. Try altering the settings. See

I doubt it will be anything to do with 64 vs 32 bit. I am running
both, on different machines of course.
Could be a python library version incompatibility, but the error
message you quoted doesn't make that likely.
