Hi, I had limited success once with a Lexmark 1100 series printer and a Z600 driver, but forget how i did it :-( Maybe you saw this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/LexmarkP... in which case I say good luck because the command line prescription does not specify which folder you are in when issuing some commands, then "reassuringly" warns you can trash your system if you screw up said commands. Anyway it is for Dapper 6.06!! I hate chucking out anything that can still be pressed into service, but you have to evaluate how much your time and frustration is worth, not to mention the cost of even 'after market' replacement cartridges for certain brands of inkjet printer. OTOH if anybody knows for sure how to get it working on 11.04, let's hear it!! Cheers, Mike On 20/10/11 19:56, Peter Wolf wrote:
Hello, I have been trying to get the above printer working with Ubuntu 11.04.Firstly I don't really know what I am doing and have spent an hour or two on it already.I tried adding the printer via the usual user friendly way however there is no printer driver listed for that model.I looked at some information on the Ubuntu forums which led me to the Gentoo Wiki Archives.I tried a few scripts from those sources but they didn't work for me.Does anyone know how to get the above printer to work with Ubuntu?
regards Peter
