The library closes at 7pm so arrivals after that time will need to contact Andrew on (0421) 775 358 or any other attendee for admission.* Speaker: Duncan Roe, nfq - an ad blocker that runs on the router The concept of running an ad blocker on the router is not new. nfq is a particularly lightweight approach to this concept [in terms of lines of code, scripts &c.]. This presentation concentrates on the technical aspects of implementing nfq, with also an overview of 2 alternative systems. nfq is based on nftables. Like the other 2 systems, it can be configured to run on the device, instead of on the router. The presentation includes a demonstration of nfq on the device. About the speaker: Duncan has had a Linux desktop since 1993. A software developer, he first used Linux professionally in 1994. He has been hacking on Linux ever since. Many of us like to go for dinner nearby after the meeting, typically at Brunetti's or Trotters Bistro in Lygon St. Please let us know if you'd like to join us! Linux Users of Victoria is a subcommittee of Linux Australia.
